| Oct. 30th, 2006 11:39 am 10 REASONS WHY BEING GAY IS WRONG
01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in North America.
09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.
Re-post this if you believe love makes a marriage. 8 comments - Leave a comment

| Oct. 23rd, 2006 11:51 am Ta da! Well thanks to Brian I have a picture of my tattoo that he took with his cell when we were all playing risk. So...here it is :D

I love it. It's getting kind of peely now as the scabby bits are coming off and leaving the smooth black permanency underneath.
I am at York right now, hanging out in Dan's room while he is in class for six hours (ergh), and reading people's posts has brought forth my thought process of the future, and how I'm still not sure what I want to do with the rest of my life, and how I really don't want to lose my old friends, but even reading their posts I wonder if I'm still a part of their lives, and whether or not it would be intrusive to comment on something I'm not really sure if I'm close enough to comment on. Just know that you're all in my thoughts all the time. I do miss everyone and wish the best of luck to all. I also wonder about other bits of the future and whether or not anything is built to last. Whether old friendships can be mended, whether or not new ones will last. What will happen in one, two, five, ten years, and whether or not there will be something then that I regret doing now. I want so much from the future, but at the same time what I want most is the simplest things. If I have kids I want to be able to be healthy enough to help them grow up. I want to be married, but I don't want to burden someone down the road with taking care of me. When will my parents die, and how will I take it? Will I die before my little brother, or will I have to stand at his funeral and watch him slip away knowing no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't protect him from the things he needed protecting from the most. Knowing that I only did so much, and wondering if I could have, should have done more. Hoping that Liz and Rachael never die, and if they do wondering if I'll be able to go on without them.
Who will I able to go on without? Current Mood: contemplative

| Oct. 19th, 2006 02:51 pm Guess what I did.... :D I got my tattoo done yesterday, but not without working for it! Tom drove me to Longhorn where I had an appointment. We got there at 1 and waited until quarter to 3 for the artist to show up and he never did! So I got frustrated and we left. We then went to the Scout shop for some crap Tom had to get and then he drove me to Indelibly Yours in downtown Whitby where the artist took me right away and did my tattoo. I had to cancel my birthday dinner plans :( but I got my tattoo! It's a little bigger than I had planned, but I don't care! I love it! Current Mood: jubilant

| Oct. 17th, 2006 10:09 pm Thanks everyone I've decided that I will indeed get it on my wrist and I'm going tomorrow! I'm very excited! There's been some screw up with my booking apparently, so I might have to go to another parlor, but either way tomorrow it is! Happy 18th to me! 5 comments - Leave a comment | |

| Oct. 16th, 2006 11:18 pm My tattoo So in two days I'm going to go get my first tattoo. It's a picture of two fairies flying holding up a naked woman and reaching for a star. It's supposed to represent my two best friends (liz and rachael) and the way that they "carried" me through the worst times in my life. I was planning on getting it done on my wrist because it was a good proportion to the tattoo itself and because I liked the way it looked. People told me that they thought that this was a bad idea, so I decided to move it to the inside of my right ankle. Now I was thinking about it, and I don't really want it done there. I want it done on my wrist because of the significance it has to the bad times in my life and such. It would serve as a reminder not to go there again.
What is your opinion? Please tell me! 11 comments - Leave a comment

| Oct. 12th, 2006 10:13 pm ergh So I was offered a job at DQ, which I took. When I was hired (over the phone) my boss, Brenda, told me I was working Tues, Wed, Fri, and Sat, to which I replied "I told you I can't work Tuesday nights". This was no problem so I went to my first day of work which went fairly smoothly except an icecream machine blew up all over me. I woke up this morning when Dan called me at 12:30 :D and was lounging in front of the tv at 2:10 when I got a phone call at which point someone from dairy queen was "just calling to see if you're coming in for your shift today?" I had a shift today!?!?!?! Not one that I was informed of, but that didn't really matter because all I could think was "I'm late...for my second day of work...that's just fucking great." So I called Dan's mom and luckily his dad was working from home today so they had the car and she came and picked me up and drove me to work. I'm exhausted. Current Mood: exhausted
